The discovery of a new restaurant is just like finding those perfect pair of 6-inch heels, makes you feel high in every sense of the word. The pursuit is on going and gets better with every experience, every pair. El Bulli, historic and cutting edge, edible art on a plate. El Bulli is a Michelin 3-star restaurant in Roses, Catalonia, Spain. Noted as "the most imaginative generator of haute cuisine on the planet". With famed head chef Ferran Adria running the show and producing cuisine with molecular gastronomy (google. mhmm). El Bulli has a limited season: the 2010 season, for example, ran from June 15 to December 20. Bookings for the next year are taken on a single day after the closing of the current season. It accommodates only 8,000 diners a season, but gets more than two million requests. Restaurant Magazine judged El Bulli to be #1 on its top 50 list of the world's best restaurants for a record five times — in 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, and #2 in 2010. Spain being next on the travel plans means a desperate need for a reserve at El Bulli. Impossible never meant much, until now. It will officially be closing july 31st and re-opening again in 2014 as a culinary school. The closest we will get? Buy the books and imagine. The pursuit continues and the shoe gods better not disappoint.
