Welcome to Croatia

The South Route is where The Yacht Week began and is our original sailing route. It runs from four locations – Kremik, Sibinik (Mandalina), Split ACI and Kastela Marina – and takes you on an epic journey visiting four islands in seven days.

The Yacht Week - Croatia Map

Along the way you will stop in Hvar, which is renowned for its parties and where we host our infamous after beach party. With room for up to 50 yachts the regatta is a definite highlight giving everyone a chance to show off their newly acquired sailing skills before heading off to the last night party.

Destinations

  • VIS
  • KOMIZA
  • SCEDRO
  • HVAR
  • SOLTA

…you will find the beach club where we arrange an open air party right by the water. The DJ stops when the last person leaves the dance floor…

Red Route

Leaves from Kastela and Split ACI Marina

The route will start and finish in Kastela or Split ACI Marina, depending on where your yacht started.

Your Marina

The marinas are a short drive from Split Airport. Check your yacht information in order to find out which marina you should go to. Your yacht will be available for you and your crew at around 4pm on the departure day. We recommend that you arrive at the marina by 2pm at the latest in order to have time for shopping and sort out the paperwork, leave a safety deposit and check in to your yacht. All the boats will be spread over a few piers in each marina and you will have a chance to meet your fellow sailors before heading out to sail on the first day!

Vis - Vis Island

The town of Vis has a long promenade with a number of good restaurants offering fresh fish and lobster. Be sure to go out for dinner here. We recommend restaurant Kaliopa where all the tables are spread out in a romantic and beautiful garden filled with palm trees and flowers.

The evening festivities kick off at Fort King George III, an old fort built in 1812 by the English commander of Vis. Here you can enjoy the fresh ocean breeze while ordering a drink at the bar and overlooking the great bay of Vis and the boats at anchor.

The island today looks like paradise, but was only opened to foreigners in 1994 as it was the military headquarters for Marshal Tito. As a result, Vis is basically untouched since the 1970′s and has retained almost all of its varied historical architecture. The island offers a great deal of interesting sites including submarine docks, gun towers like “Navarone” and tunnels kilometers long through the hills.

Komiza - Vis Island

Untouched and charming Komiza is a small fishing village located on the western bay of Vis island. It’s picturesque houses and beautiful front are filled with restaurants. Make sure you walk around and explore the little village with small boutiques and great ice cream. Most of the yachts will stay at anchor here and take a taxi boat to the pier in the evening. Around the corner from the village you will find the beach club where we arrange an open air party right by the water. The DJ stops when the last person leaves the dance floor…

Natural Bay

There are a number of natural bays to choose from, depending on the weather and wind directions. Here we raft all the yachts together in traditional Yacht Week style so that you can swim and enjoy the nature of Croatia. This evening is very spontaneous and often ends in late night parties on the yachts.

SCEDRO

A bay well protected from all wind directions except for from the direct north. Located away from the normal sailing route this bay is very popular if you want some privacy and enjoy the nature of Croatia.

PALMIZANA BAY

Well protected from any winds but south. It is possible to access taxi boats to Hvar and plenty of nice seafood restaurants.

LIVKA BAY

Protected from all winds but south. Beautiful bay, great for swimming and close to Split with refuelling options in Milna or Rogac.

Hvar - Hvar Island

The St. Tropez of Croatia! You have probably already heard of Hvar as it’s the most famous place along the Croatian coast. The marble front is filled with boutiques, bars, restaurants and cafes. Make sure you get here early as we arrange a well known after beach party that you will love. All yachts are moored in Palmizana Marina right outside Hvar on a small island or in the town. As this is a very popular place it’s recommended to arrive early to get a mooring spot.

Sesula - Solta Island

For 4 years this part of the northwest bay, Sesula, of Solta has been extremely popular! We arrange a party 'On The Rocks' at Sismis Cocktail Bar. All the yachts will line up by anchor along the bay. Enjoy drinks on the deck and watch the sun go down. It's the perfect place to socialise with other crews!

Friday Regatta & Regatta Party

On Fridays we arrange a regatta for all the yachts. By now you should be good enough to help your skipper like a top race crew. The regatta winners are chosen based on:

  • Sailing time!
  • Atmosphere on board
  • Clothing and decorations

Regatta winners will be announced at the Regatta Party!
