At BC, we get sincere (and very un-fashiony) pleasure from the decadent and the delicious. In honour of the fast approaching Thanksgiving holiday, we are sharing a few prized recipes- like our much sought after, ultra secret, overwhelmingly divine cranberry and orange sauce. It’s almost better than cashmere.
2 oranges juiced
½ cup brown sugar
1 bag fresh cranberries
2 sprigs of fresh thyme, leaves picked
1 teaspoon of finely grated lemon rind
Thyme sprig for garnish
Pour the orange juice into a saucepan with brown sugar. Dissolve the sugar over a low heat, then increase heat and boil rapidly for 2-3 minutes. Add the fresh cranberries. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer for 7-10 minutes, until the cranberries have softened. Stir in the lemon rind and fresh thyme leaves, then set aside to cool and thicken. Serve garnished with a thyme sprig as an accompaniment to turkey or ham.
